Officers responded to a Shot Spotter activation in the area of the 1000 block of Alma Ave. and located evidence that led them to a crime scene in the 900 block of Machado Way. Officers secured the scene and attempted to locate possible victims. A short time later, Salinas PD was notified of two possible victims who had arrived at the emergency room at Natividad Medical Center suffering non-life threatening gunshot wounds to their legs.
The two 18 year old male victims were contacted at the hospital and both were less than cooperative. They only told officers they were walking in the area when unknown suspects shot them. They did not provide any further details and there is no suspect information at this time.
