Salinas Police Officers were dispatched to a victim of a shooting near Bardina and Toro. The 18 year old male victim was walking with a friend when a two suspects approached. There was a verbal confrontation then several shots were fired. The victim indicated that he has had recent problems with rival gang members. He was shot once in the lower leg. His injury was non life threatening but was flown to a bay area hospital for treatment. There is no specific suspect description. The incident is being investigated as gang related.
