A 13 year old girl was home alone when she heard a knock at the front door. She looked outside, did not recognize the person and did not answer the door. 15 minutes later she heard someone talking in her backyard and breaking into her residence. She locked herself in an upstairs bedroom and called police. An officer arrived on scene, located and arrested Mathew Ramirez, 34, sitting in a vehicle idoling on the street several houses away from the victim residence. Arriving officers observed two subjects running from the victim residence along the foot path toward the 300 block of North Main Street. Officers and an on duty parole agent detained the 14 year old male suspect in the parking lot of a business. A second suspect, Richard Cadle, 26, continued running across North Main Street to an open field to Sherwood Drive and US 101. Cadle was taken into custody without further incident. Ramirez, Cadle and the 14 year old suspect were booked into the Monterey County Jail for attempted burglary, burglary, conspiracy and gang enhancement. Cadle was also booked for parole violation.
