A 77 year-old male was driving NB on Hwy 101 on his way to NMC for a medical appointment. He started felling dizzy and pulled off the freeway on Fairview. He attempted to break, but instead hit the accelerator and lost consciousness. He ran through a stop sign, crossed both lanes of traffic on Fairview, drove up onto a lawn, hit a tree (which broke off) and crashed through a wooden fence and drove into the side of a garage causing major damage. The truck ended up on its side and the male was trapped inside the truck and had to be taken out through a back window by Salinas Fire Department. He had some cuts, but was otherwise fine. He was taken to NMC for examination. No alcohol or drugs is suspected. A DMV re-examination has been started. Nobody was injured in this incident.
