Location: 0-100 block of Capitol Street
Officers responded to a call of an attempted homicide/stabbing call in the 0-100 block of Capitol St. Officers found the victim (47) suffering from stab wounds to his chest and arm. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital where he was stabilized and later flown to a Bay area hospital for treatment. His condition is serious but stable as of this morning.
The investigation revealed the suspect, who was later identified as Hector Luis Martinez (31), had unexpectedly arrived at his relatives residence and was allowed to spend the night. For unknown reason, Martinez stabbed the victim at least three times to chest and upper body and then fled the residence. Martinez is not related to the victim and at this time it is unknown what provoked the attack.
Martinez has ties to the Sacramento area and may be enroute there. Martinez may be driving an older model black BMW.
