Incident:Weapon Charges, Meth for Sale, Possession of Counterfeit Currency and Violation of Shelter in Place Order Arrests

On 4-13-2020 at approximately 7:05 pm, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Sun Street regarding an occupied suspicious vehicle. The reporting party felt the occupants of the vehicle were acting suspicious and possibly casing to rob a business. The vehicle was described as a silver Nissan Maxima with two males and a female aboard.
Prior to the officer's arrival, the vehicle left toward E. Market Street, arriving officers spotted the vehicle on E. Market and Sherwood Dr. and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, Gregory Smith (49), was contacted and found to be on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and have a felony warrant for drug sales. The front passenger, Michael Davis (39), was also found to be on PRCS. The rear passenger, Maria Jones (50), was found to be in possession of a firearm.
A search of the vehicle was conducted, and seventeen counterfeit $100 bills were found on the driver's floorboard. A search of a backpack located in the backseat of the vehicle, revealed a loaded Smith & Wesson .38 Special revolver, meth and marijuana. Smith also had $537 on his person which was seized.
Maria Jones was cited and released on a possession of weapon charge and violation of the shelter in place order. Michael Davis was cited and released for violation of shelter in place order. Gregory Smith was booked in county jail for the felony warrant, charges of possession of meth for sales, possession of counterfeit currency, PRCS and violation and violation of the shelter in place order.
