Officers responded to a carjacking at the Steinbeck Library parking lot. The victim (23) reported he was called by a female acquaintance (17) and asked to meet at the library parking lot to talk. As the victim and the acquaintance sat in the car, she unlocked the door. Three male suspects approached the victim's vehicle confronted him and demanded the car keys and his wallet.

The victim, in fear of his safety, turned over the car keys to his Grand Am and then was able to escape as the suspects entered his vehicle and drove off. Responding officers arrived on scene, conducted an area check and located the stolen vehicle on Monterey St. near E. Market St.

All four occupants were arrested, including the female acquaintance (17) who had lured the victim to the library lot. In addition, Eric Ortiz (21), Mike Rivera (30), and Eric Reeve (29) were transported to county jail on charges of carjacking, resisting arrest and violation of probation. The juvenile female was taken to Juvenile Hall on similar charges.
