Officers responded to the 700 block of Elkington Avenue for a report of a shooting victim. They located Jorge Tinoco Matias, age 20, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medical care was provided and he was transported to Natividad Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
There were no witnesses to the shooting and there is very limited information on the incident. This is being investigated as gang related and is the 16th homicide of the year.
