Officers with the Salinas Police Department's Violence Suppression Unit conducted a traffic stop for vehicle code violations at Los Coches & Klamath. During the traffic stop, officers observed a loaded firearm in the glove box. Gang members Carlos Velasquez (18) and Diego Damien (18) were both arrested and lodged in county jail for numerous firearm and gang charges.
Several hours later, members of the Violence Suppression Unit served a search warrant at 410 E. Alvin Dr. Inside the residence 2 additional handguns were located. One was reported stolen and the other had obliterated serial numbers. A dormant honey oil lab was also found in the same bedroom as the firearms. Gang member Abraham Renteria (18) was lodged in county jail for numerous firearm, gang and drug manufacturing charges.
